ABSTRACT

Bulgarian natural expanded mineral obtained from Bentonit AD (deposit of “The BrokenMountain” for perlite mining, near the village of Vodenicharsko, municipality of Dzhebel) perlite, was loaded with silver (as Ag+ 2 and 5 wt% by the incipient wetness impregnation method), and as Ag0 using Tollen’s reagent (silver mirror reaction). DC arc-AES and XRD methods were used for Ag detection. Samples also were characterized with DR-IR and UV-VIS. The aim of this work was to obtain silver loaded catalyst for ozone decomposition.

Key words: perlite glass, Ag thin film, XRD, DR UV-VIS, IR spectroscopy, DC arc-AES method
